Discovery Charter School

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Client: Discovery Charter School

Services: Provided survey and civil engineering services associated with retrofitting an existing warehouse/office building for reuse as a charter school in west Philadelphia. Per the client's request, we limited the disturbed area on site to under the 15,000 s.f. threshold per PWD regulations in order to avoid construction of stormwater management facilities. Proposed site grading was critical in maintaining this threshold. Site work included new concrete curbing, full-depth parking lot paving, as well as milling and overlaying of existing paving, a trash enclosure, utility connections and stormwater conveyance to the existing City sewer.

401 Plymouth Road

Location: Plymouth Township, PA

Client: The Flynn Co. & Brandywine Realty Trust

Services: Provided full site-civil design services for the six-story, 210,000 s.f. class “A” office building, with an attached four-tier, 780-space parking structure, three surface parking lots totaling 261 spaces, associated drives and pedestrian walkways on 12.5 acres. The total construction cost of the project exceeded twenty-three million dollars.

Conicelli Nissan

Location: Plymouth Township, PA

Client: Conicelli Nissan

Services: Provided full site-civil engineering services for the construction of a 28,000 s.f. auto dealership along with a 154-space asphalt parking lot, a subsurface stormwater basin, a gravel vehicle storage area, and sanitary sewer relocation. Site grading was designed to provide access from the neighboring Concelli-owned property as well as Ridge Pike.

Drexel University – Market 16 Noodle Bar

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Client: Drexel University

Services: Provided site-civil engineering services associated with the building vestibule addition and exterior plaza renovations for the Market 16 Noodle Bar. Services included the relocation of existing utilities and the preparation of building permit and zoning plans.

Patient First Medical Facility and Office Building

Location: East Norriton Township, PA

Client: Tornetta Realty Corp.

Services: Provided survey and civil engineering services for new 7,033 s.f. medical facility and 5,950 s.f. office building. Project buildings were constructed on an existing pad site which is part of a multi-use business campus. The project included a parking lot, utilities, stormwater conveyance, site lighting and landscaping.

Welsh Road Business Center

Location: Horsham Township, PA

Client: Berks Ridge Company Enterprises, Inc.

Services: Provided engineering services for the construction of a 146-space parking lot expansion and the conversion of an existing surface stormwater management facility into a subsurface stormwater management basin for the existing office complex.

Upper Perkiomen High School Athletic Fields

Location: Upper Providence Township, PA

Client: Upper Perkiomen School Board

Services: Provided full surveying and site-civil engineering services related to replacing two existing natural turf fields with a synthetic turf system, with associated under-drain system, large size rain garden system, field lighting, and viewing stands within the 6-acre site. Construction Administrative Services as well as construction stake-out services were also provided.

Falls Township Park Trail

Location: Falls Township, PA

Client: Falls Township

Services: Provided project management, site-civil, and landscape architectural services for the construction of approximately 2.5 miles of multi-use trails connecting the surrounding communities to the Falls Township Community Park. The project involved the design of a pedestrian bridge, seat-walls at vista points, and landscaping. In addition, the project required the performance of flood studies, pavement designs, traffic signal modification plans, shop drawing reviews, construction observations, construction meetings, processing of contractor’s request for payment and preparation of punch lists. It also required continuous coordination between various governmental agencies such as FHA, FEMA, DEP, PHMC, DVRPC, PennDot, as well as the local residents.

Eustace Engineering was also retained to review the contractors’ work for compliance with the construction documents prepared by others and evaluated the contractors' request for the release of the maintenance bonds on a 228-acre Community Park and its associated athletic fields, basketball courts, roller hockey rink, play ground, pavilions, sledding hill, boat ramp, walking trails, and landscaping. This required coordinating with the Municipality, the design consultant, the contractor and their subcontractors, and attendance to on-site meetings.

Haverford YMCA

Location: Havertown, PA

Client: YMCA of Philadelphia and Vicinity

Services: Provided site engineering services for a new 72,000 s.f. two story YMCA facility with state of the art equipment and amenities. The site involved numerous design challenges associated with developing a brown field site. Coordination with the EPA and DEP was required to limit exposure to potential contaminated groundwater while maintaining existing on-site monitoring wells and a force main for the remediation of the contaminated groundwater. A portion of the site is located on a PECO substation property which required relocation of several PECO high power service lines. Bio-swales were designed and constructed in order to satisfy the Township and DEP water quality requirements.


The project also included design and permitting associated with enclosing a potion of Naylor’s Run stream for parking lot improvements. The stream enclosure was designed to mirror the stream's existing conditions with respect to both the peak flows and high-water elevations upstream, on-site and downstream. To demonstrate this, the stream was analyzed using both HydroCAD and the US Army Corp of Engineers HEC-RAS modeling software.

Robert A. Brady Veterans Center Housing

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Client: HELP USA

Services: Provided engineering and surveying services for a two-tract, 47-unit Veterans Affairs housing facility. Surveying services included a topographic survey of the existing sites' features and utilities, research of property boundaries, etc. for the preparation of an ALTA Survey. Engineering services included the full stormwater management design of two underground infiltration basins, each one servicing a separate tract of the site. Included in the engineering services was complete erosion and sedimentation control best management practice design for both tracts and the preparation of the necessary plans, documents, reports and permit applications related to Erosion and Sediment Control/NPDES Permitting from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. As well as, the preparation of plans, documents, reports and permit applications related to PWD permitting for Stormwater Management in the City of Philadelphia.

Client: Kessinger/Hunter & Company

Services: Provided full site civil engineering services for a 59,561 s.f. warehouse expansion to an existing 111,000 s.f. office/warehouse facility. Additional design features analyzing the site for truck movements, relocating parking areas and lighting and landscaping.

In 1978 Martin Eustace, Jr. started Eustace Engineering on principles still guiding the firm today. Principles such as attentiveness to the needs of our clients, accountability, flexibility, value and continued education have provided continued success for Martin J. Eustace, III since taking over as president in 1994. Since its inception, Eustace Engineering has participated in a wide variety of projects providing:

Eustace Engineering has assisted many clients in solving problems that were unique to their project. Eustace Engineering's headquarters is located just outside of Philadelphia in Willow Grove, PA. We have satellite offices located in Camp Hill, PA, Mansfield, PA, and Bozman, MD.

We are currently accepting resumes and/or CV's from Survey Technicians. We are seeking individuals with at least 3 years of experience working on a land surveying crew and are able to use both Total Stations and GPS equipment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience performing topographic surveys, boundary retracement stakeouts, and construction stakeout. Candidates should be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
